The MacBook 2015 has recently been launched and it is apparently considered as one of the best ultraportable devices. In the meantime, another ultraportable device, the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 release date is reportedly set for July. Upon release, the heavily-rumoured Surface Pro 4 will replace the well-received 2-in-1 notebook Surface Pro 3. It is worth reminding that, the Surface Pro 3 seamlessly blends business with entertainment to offer a wholesome device and value for money. Therefore, here is a comparison of the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 and the Apple MacBook 2015.

Microsoft Surface Pro 4 vs. MacBook 2015: Specifications And Features

According to The Latino Post, The Apple MacBook 2015 sports a 12-inch Retina display and 2304 x 1440 pixels screen resolution. And as it turns out, the device already holds the record for the thinnest MacBook ever built by Apple. The new device apparently weighs 2 pounds and it is only 13.1 mm thick. Because of the latest and powerful Intel Broadwell Core M processor on board, the device comes with no fan.

On the other hand, the Surface Pro 4 will reportedly come as two variants with 12.0-inch and 14.0-inch displays. Plus, the 12.0-inch model will be fan-less and it will apparently flaunt 2K resolution of 2,160 x 1,440 pixels. Under the hood, the 14.0-inch Surface Pro 4 is expected to be powered by Intel i5 and i7 processors, while the 12.0-inch version will settle for a new Intel SoC, writes VCPost.

Speaking of memory configuration, the Surface Pro 4 will apparently pack a maximum of 1 TB of in-built storage, whereas the MacBook 2015 comes with 256 GB to 512 GB of storage. When it comes to RAM specification, the Apple device houses an 8 GB unit, while the Microsoft tablet is expected to come with a whopping 16 GB unit. On the software end, the Surface Pro 4 will run on the upcoming Windows 10 OS, while the MacBook 2015 runs on OS X Yosemite, notes Macrumors.

Meanwhile, the crucial point about the MacBook 2015, according to Ars Technica, is the "most controversial" port configuration. The new device reportedly features a headphone jack and a single USB Type C port. Apparently, the Type C USB port can be used to connect other ports/devices. The publication says, "Apple was showing off a couple of things that split the Type C port into a few different, more conventional ports made possible by Type C's support of multiple protocols."

Microsoft Surface Pro 4 vs. MacBook 2015: Release Date, Price And Availability

The Apple MacBook 2015 release date is apparently set for April 10 in the U.S. Speaking of MacBook 2015 price, the device will reportedly set the buyers back by $1,299. Meanwhile, as mentioned earlier, the upcoming Microsoft device will be released in July, however, the recent Surface Pro 3 price cut of $100/$150 indicates that the release could be earlier, notes The Latino Post.
