After Microsoft, the Redmond-based tech giant, succeeded in the development of tablet category with released of the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 in last year, the company is now planning to unveil a new device this year. Recently, Microsoft Surface 3 tablet was announced and it is now heading for shipping next month. This new tablet is perceived as somehow slightly inferior when compared to the Surface Pro line, but it comes with a pack of decent specs.
The Surface Pro 4 is expected to be unveiled by Microsoft soon. Even though Microsoft is mum on it, rumours claim that the Surface Pro 4 release date is set between June and October this year. The Motley Fool adds that its arrival will coincide with the release of Windows 10.
The new Surface 3 tablet comes in a thinner and lighter design similar to that of Surface Pro 3. It also features a 10.8 display screen that has a full HD (1920x1280) pixel resolution. Surface 3 tablet is powered by Intel Atom’s new processor named as Cherry Trail. Some other features of the tablet are a 3.5-megapixel front camera, 8-megapixel rear camera, a mini-Display Port, and a full-size USB 3.0 port.
As far as the specs of the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 are concerned, speculations state that the company may step up its game by releasing two variants of this device. One will have a 12-inch screen panel while the one features a 14-inch display screen.
However, both versions of the tablet sport a screen resolution of 2160 x 1440. The device also packs Intel Core M Broadwell chip that is paired with Windows 10 OS. It comes with a storage capacity of 1 TB and a 16 GB of RAM. Microsoft has not yet confirmed when it will announce Surface Pro 4.
A recently published report on the International Business Times claims that unlike the expected high-end specs, the device is pegged to feature upgraded specs of Surface Pro 3. Citing Windows Central, it states that the Surface Pro 4 will come with 5th gen Broadwell chip from Intel or Intel Core M processor.
Instead of two display size variants, only a 12-inch Surface Pro 4 is expected to release with a resolution of 2160 x 1440 pixels. It will also feature kickstand, multiple ports for connectivity and the capacity of the battery will be quite similar to the one present in the predecessor model.
