Microsoft's Prestigio MultiPhone 8500 DUO Hits Russia; Price, Five Fresh Features to Anticipate on Windows Phone

Microsoft is set to release more lines of Windows phone devices apart from Nokia.

According to GSM Arena, the company released a mid-range mobile phone, the Prestigio MultiPhone 8500 DUO, in Russia for RUB 7,990 which translates to about $240 in Australia. This Windows phone is also up for grabs in Africa, Middle East, Europe and parts of Asia.

Here are five fresh features to anticipate on the new Windows phone.

Dual SIM

The Prestigio MultiPhone 8500 DUO is capable of holding two SIMs. This means smartphone users can have two telephone numbers at the same time without the need to carry two different phones.

Updated OS

Prestigio MultiPhone 8500 DUO sports the latest Windows Phone 8.1 operating system. This OS comes with all the accompanying features such as OneDrive, Live Tiles, Action Center and others. With this OS, smartphone users can take photos, make calls, personalise the tiled home screen, work on the go, keep in touch with family and friends, get apps, protect sensitive information from their Windows phone, search for places and play music and games.

Large Display

Prestigio MultiPhone 8500 DUO has a 5-inch display with a screen resolution of 720 pixels. Given this screen size, smartphone users can clearly view text messages, photos and other information displayed on the screen.

Picture Perfect Camera

Prestigio MultiPhone 8500 DUO has an 8-MP rear-facing camera. It has the capability to capture video at 1,080 pixel screen resolution, according to GSM Arena. There is also a 2-MP front-facing camera which allows smartphone users who are fond of taking selfies to have hours and hours of picture-taking sessions.

Various reports say the Prestigio MultiPhone 8500 DUO has a Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor with Adreno 305 GPU. It has 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal memory. The Windows phone also has a built in mobile device management client, VPN support and S/MIME for encrypted mail.

The features mentioned above makes smartphone users anticipate for the Windows phone when it will be launched in Australia and in other countries as well.
