Mindy Kaling does not like being a bridesmaid because being one is akin to being a slave. She also shared that shooting sex scenes is really a perk for Hollywood stars, instead of being awkward to do.

Speaking with Seth Meyers on “Late Night with Seth Meyers" (via E Online) Kaling wonders why anyone would want to be a bridesmaid when technically, they would end up being a “maid.” She said that every girl dreamed of being a bridesmaid at a wedding because it sounds “kinda glamorous” but essentially, being one is like being as “slave.”

She explained, "You're like a slave, an unpaid slave to the wedding and you're job is to -- you're a maid and you know it because you're wearing a dress that's the same color of the other maids.” She said bridesmaids have to go around guiding grandparents, talking to foreigners and meeting people who look like they do not know what they are doing at the wedding. She said they also need to find the rings and stuff. She said while bridesmaids huff and puff to assist in the wedding, groomsmen do not have such trying duties. Even though groomsmen need to be helpful, all they do is drink beer and “play with the dogs.”

Not one to mince words or filter what she is saying, Kaling also shared via her book a secret that most Hollywood stars would not share and would even lie about. In a print preview of her upcoming book, entitled “Why Not Me?” which is set to be released on Sept 29, Kaling has a chapter titled “I Love Sex Scenes!” Here, she said that even though stars, including Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis, would grouch about filming sex scenes and claimed that doing these are awkward at best, they secretly love it. She clarified that she personally find it the biggest perk for someone working in Hollywood.

She said shooting onscreen sex would never be “actual penetrative sex,” but this does not mean doing it would not be enjoyable. She said “any religious high schooler” would attest that “simulating sex” can be quite enjoyable. She added that the many people watching as the shooting of the sex does not make an artist feel awkward because they are there to do the opposite. Most of them are artists whose main task is to make sure the star looks perfect on the scene. At the end of the day, a star would even wish there are more people there.
