‘Minecraft’ dev treats fans to Halloween Mash-Up Pack with 43 skins and new Snapshot 15w43a
Halloween is coming early for “Minecraft” fans. A new mash-up is set to bring new terrors and spooks to the blocky world this season.
Mojang and 4J Studios are rolling out the Halloween Mash-up pack for consoles. This pack introduces 43 skins of the Halloween nature alongside other cool features. Announced via the Xbox Wire, the Halloween Mash-up pack will bring about costumes that will get the Halloween vibe going. Some of the costumes include the Wicked Witch, the Grim Reaper, the Bride of Frankenstein, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, the Mad Doctor and more.
Some of the skins will be offered as a free download once it becomes available on Oct. 23. All of the console versions of “Minecraft,” including the PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360, will get the Halloween Mash-up Pack for US$3.99 (approx. AU$5.53).
“Minecraft” fans who are playing either the mobile Pocket Edition or the Windows 10 Beta Edition need not worry. Mojang has also assured that they will be getting a Halloween treat, though details were not specified.
Apart from the Halloween Mash-up Pack, Mojang is also introducing a new snapshot 15w43a to “Minecraft.” The newest snapshot has a couple of new features and bug fixes, according to its official website.
There is a new structure in the world and a new loot table concept designed to change the loot inside random chests or mob drops. Strongholds have also been increased in the world. Finally, Mojang has also improved the debug menu and introduced minor bug fixes.
The bug tracking continues for fans who are testing out the snapshot. As usual, the developer suggests that fans backup words or run the snapshot in a different folder. This is to avoid corrupting worlds, which is always a possibility when exploring snapshots. Any bugs tracked can be sent over to Mojang via the link here.
