Play as the bat or see him dead in Batman: Arkham Origins MP

There's more to see and wait for with the release of Batman: Arkham Origins, as a multiplayer mode has just been reported to be coming to deliver a competitive angle to the DC favorite.

According to Joystiq, the brain behind the multiplayer mode is Splash Damage, who was responsible for the likes of Enemy Territory: Quake Wars. The main focus of the mode is not just to place you in a team of Batmen fighting off for the greater good, but rather to put you in the shoes of both the good and evil in the game.

You can pick to be on three teams a goon from Joker's gang, members of Bane's gang, or embody Batman and Robin, with each team having particular missions which they will have to

While Bane's and Joker's gangs will have the heavy artillery of shotguns, grenades, and even aerial bombs, the duo will be working on stealth and the environment to ensure that they can takedown the enemy from above.

According to the report, the duo can win if they bring enough fear for the two goon teams, which will then retreat until the next match starts.

To keep things fair, everyone is allowed to take on the different roles, as the game ensures that roles are switched between rounds. Obviously, Batman and Robin would have the highest vote in terms of which one you would probably want to be with, but considering that there is also thrill in watching the bad guys win--and to beat The Bat while you're at it, is something worth enjoying.

Batman: Arkham Origins is coming to the Xbox 360, PS3, PC, and Wii U on October 25, but keep in mind that the multiplayer mode will not be available on the Wii U version.

Killzone: Mercenary closed beta up, open beta slated this month

The signups for the closed beta for Killzone: Mercenary has long expired--and was only held for a short while, so no need to fuss over it--and it is already live now (for the lucky few who were able to signup).

But if you want to take part in the trial base gaming, an open beta is still in the pipeline, slated to be released later this August.

PlayStation.com reports that the open beta will be launching, with details still to be announced. The report also adds that there may be those who have receive a voucher for the multiplayer Beta during a promotion held by PlayStation, but this is for the Open Beta which is yet to be officially announced.
