Just as 4J Studios has promised, it has recently rolled out a couple of screenshots of the Minecraft Xbox 360 Natural Texture Pack, its latest pack and a follow-up to the Plastic Texture Pack.
"Some people have already noticed our new 'Natural Texture Pack' Twitter header," said the developers in their Twitter account.
A few more screenshots have been uploaded since then, which you can check out below. Fans are already excited to see new texture pack just based on the screenshots alone.
Over at Play XBLA, 4J Studios has also announced that the pack will be coming very soon as a download. "It's time to dress-up your Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition for the cold season. Luckily a new beautiful texture pack is on its way! The Natural Texture Pack will shine new light on your creations and amaze you and your friends."
Did you know the history of Minecraft Xbox 360?
Minecraft is a game pretty much played by a very large following and in a variety of platforms (soon to expand even more with the introduction of the versions for Sony's gaming devices).
But did you know the people who have been working on the Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition, 4J Studios, are still living it, albeit high, in the a small office in East Linton?
Edinburgh News has recently released a write-up detailing the history of the people behind the game. Minecraft has created a lot of buzz and influence as a game, with its only limitation being the players' creativity and extent of imagination. And this is what fuels the fire that 4J Studios puts into its works, from the creation of the Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition, to the more recent developments of texture packs to catch up with the PC version.
"No one anticipated that level of interest in the game," said Paddy Burns, chief technology officer for 4J Studios, to Edinburgh News. "The sales Minecraft took in the first couple of days were pretty much what Microsoft thought would be its entire lifetime sales. It blew them and us away."
Of course, the progress did bring a few frustrations, starting with the fact that operating a fairly small studio working on the popular arm of a very big franchise is not as easy as it seems. It had involved a lot of distress with the Internet connection for starters, as well as considering a lot of tries with connection set-ups and lots of "hope for the best" solutions.
4J Studios has also been tasked to create the console version for the upcoming PS3, PS4, PS Vita, and the Xbox One of Minecraft, and ultimately, their popularity in their hometown, as well as the following that always supported them will continue to grow.
Until now, the developers have not forgotten their Scottish roots, opting to continue working in their East Linton base in Edinburgh despite a microwave Internet connection as well as making Scottish references in the game.
