With the progress of the Minecraft Xbox 360 TU 12 update still in the hands of developers, fans can do nothing else than just bask in speculated and expected features that have been previously brought up.

Compared to the TU 11, which has had more features except for bug fixes, TU 12 is expected to have several additions, as well as architecture changes as per 4J Studios' last update.

Based on past reports and previous rumors, some of the additional features involve iron golems, jungle biomes, tameable ocelots, and redstone lamps. These features are based on a screenshot released by 4J Studios back in May 29, when the developers have started teasing the TU 12.

Last June 21, 4J Studios released another screenshot, this time of a new Tutorial world with a few new features in the game. In the screenshot, you can see top slabs and corner stairs, among others.

Aside from these new features, texture packs have also been teased as a complimentary pack for TU 12.

"We'll have support for texture packs in TU 12," said 4J studios in their official Twitter account. This can mean that the texture packs may come alongside or sometime after the TU 12 gets released.

Scan real-world items into your Minecraft world

Ever thought of putting your bed or your dog into your Minecraft world? Scanning real-life items, transforming them into blocks, and importing them into the Minecraft world is now possible, thanks to a new app.

From Dekko, the app maker, comes DekkoScan, which allows you to do the above mentioned. While it's not yet officially in the App Store as it's still waiting for approval, it does seem like a convenient tool for those who want to add more real-world items in the game.

However, VG 24/7 notes that there are limitations to what can be scanned using the app, and that involves the size of the object. As the iOS memory can only go so far, large objects such as houses may not be scanned properly.

Developers have offered a possible solution of standing farther from the object to capture the enture image, but this method may not always work out as hoped.

"The tech is pretty experimental, and right now, geared towards close-range scanning," said DekkoScan in a statement quoted by VG 24/7.

The scanner will have 16 available shades for converting the objects into blocks, but they are planning to expand block types as the app progresses. Hopefully, that will also include a solution for scanning large objects.

Still behind The Last of Us

Even with massive sales left and right for its PC version, Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition still fails to inch out The Last of Us as it closes in on its fourth straight week on top of the U.K. charts.

According to The Examiner, Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition is still trailing close at second place, since July 6.
