Unlike "Minecraft: Xbox 360" TU12, which took quite a long time of waiting and hand wringing on the part of "Minecraft" fans, TU13 is taking a fast turn, as 4J Studios already hinted that they may be putting TU13 for testing.

"We're finishing up on TU13 (bug fix update) this week. Then it just needs to go through testing. We'll post the bug fixes once we put TU13 into Microsoft Cert testing," tweeted 4J Studios.

As for the mash-up packs which have been promised in time with the TU12, fans have already been asking for details, but 4J Studios still can't give a lot of them in the meantime.

"We're waiting to hear back from Microsoft legal on the possibility of PC texture packs on Xbox," wrote 4J Studios in their Twitter account.

"We have a few different styles of texture packs in development, and the first is close to completion," the developers added, hinting of the progress of the packs.

A New 'Minecraft' App is Coming

"Minecraft" app developer 57Digital Ltd has created the "Minecraft" Skin Scanner, which allows you to bring your real-life drawings to life. This app was first featured at the World of "Minecraft" held last August, and its mechanics are pretty simple.

All you have to do is print one of the "Minecraft" skin templates, design it of your own accord using market pens and scan it with the app. Your very own drawing will become a "Minecraft" skin, which can then be directly uploaded from the app.

Some of the features of the app include Skin Scanner functionality; two templates; simplified and standard versions, which will be made available for printing via AirPrint or downloadable via PDF for free; ability to upload your skin to Minecraft.net in a PC version; and import your design to the "Minecraft" Skin Studio or "Minecraft" Papercraft Studio.

A new version 1.1 is already out, which has improved skin recognition, added the ability to toggle the camera torch on and off (but is limited to the iPhone only) and reduced the download size.

The app is available on the iTunes for $1.99 and requires only 13.4 MB of space. Make sure that your device is iOS 5.0 or later to make it run. The "Miencraft" Skin Scanner is compatible with the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, but works best with the iPhone 5.
