Coders Rest In The Office Of Swedish Company Mojang In Stockholm
Coders rest in the Mojang company office in Stockholm January 21, 2013. A pool table, a pinball machine, board games and Lego dot the offices of Mojang, the small Swedish company behind the wildly popular Minecraft video game, and one of its founders is wearing a tuxedo and purple tie on a recent "formal Friday". The atmosphere reflects the independent spirit that has contributed to the raw identity of the game that has just sold 20 million copies. The founders want to keep it that way. Mojang, the Swedish word for gadget, has so far resisted selling to a bigger player or listing on the stock market even though that could mean monster payoffs for the 25-person staff and funding to expand dramatically its games. The well-loved building game, "Minecraft," has expanded in a lot of ways. But beyond the regular updates that bring more features to the franchise, the title has also expanded to other platforms.

Most recently, fans saw the release of both "Minecraft Xbox One Edition" and "Minecraft PS4 Edition," which both expand the game figuratively and literally. Microsoft has taken it upon itself to show off some of the differences that it deems will make fans want to either take up an Xbox One or just get lost in "Minecraft Xbox One Edition."

One reason is the simplified Menu Navigation. A tabbed interface now makes it easier for players to see the items that they can make with the ones that they already have in their inventory.

The shift to the Xbox One platform has also brought more intuitive controls, which are now tailored to the next-gen console. This means that even new players who have not experienced "Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition" can enjoy the game as it has been fine-tuned for easy handling on the Xbox One. It's also easy to go online; all you have to do is tick a box in the options menu. Easy setup is also the main aim of Microsoft as it provides various options: invite-only, play with friends or play with everyone.

For those who are playing the game for the first time and have no clue on what to do or expect, "Minecraft Xbox One Edition" also has some handy tutorial pop-ups.

Additional features include new achievements as well as add-on content for "Minecraft Xbox One Edition." Currently, there are 20 DLCs, texture packs, mashup packs and skin packs from the Xbox 360 version that will be made available for the Xbox One version.

To give a glimpse of how the "Minecraft Xbox One Ediiton" has changed from the "Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition," Eurogamer has provided some screenshots that shows the expansion of the worlds, as seen in the link. There are also the transfer saves which allow old-time players to import their world in minutes from the Xbox 360 to the Xbox One version.
