In what appears to be a tragic-comedy, a new Philippine figure of speech is being applied on the country's bachelor president, 53-year-old Benigno Aquino, who is reportedly dating a beauty queen.

While the title on the report by ABS-CBN was PNoy has dinner with Bianca Manalo, the Facebook member who shared the article on the most popular social media site commented, "Sana hindi siya ma-Janine :)," to which another commenter added, "How many times has P-Noy been 'Janined?"

Bianca is the Miss Philippines 2009 who competed in Miss Universe the same year, while Janine Tugonon got the same title and competed in the same international pageant in 2012.

The remarks in itself indicate how the ABS-CBN interview by Kris Aquino triggered a Facebook and Twitter bashing of Miss Universe 2012 1st Runner-up Janine Tugonon due to the beauty queen's announcement on national television that she dumped her ordinary looking Filipino boyfriend, Jaypee Santos, in favour of the lead singer of The Script.

The news became viral and it led netizens to call the beauty queen's action as Na-Janine Tugonon which means dumping one's boyfriend or girlfriend in favour of a more handsome/beautiful or more famous rival.

The Tagalog prefix "na" is in the past tense, while if the noun Janine Tugonon which has become a verb is used in the future tense, the prefix "ma" is used instead, which is why the Facebook commenter used ma-Janine Tugonon.

The irony of it is that siblings Kris and President Benigno Aquino have contrasting love lives, but both the affairs of their hearts are the subject of public reportage.

In the case of Kris, she has a love-child by an older actor, lived-in with another older actor/politician with their separation followed by the public because she and her former partner were hosts of rival showbiz talks shows, and she married a younger basketball player but eventually separated from him, again in a very much public manner.

In contrast, at 53, the Philippine president - the son of a former senator, his namesake, and a former president whose efforts helped overthrow a dictatorship and revived democracy - has never been married and wants his love life kept private.

But being a politician, and the only brother of a garrulous talk show host, has its downside as all his efforts to court women gets reported in media, which often leads to the relationship souring.

Even before he became president, PNoy - as Benigno Aquino is fondly called - created media buzz when he courted ABS-CBN news reader Korina Sanchez, now married to Mar Roxas, a cabinet secretary and the president's defeated running mate in the last national election.

When he became president, PNoy had Valenzuela Councilor Shalani Soledad as his girlfriend, but they eventually split. He later was seen dating stylist Liz Uy and Korean TV host Grace Lee, but things turned sour.

On Sunday, the Buzz, an ABS-CBN gossip show that Kris once hosted, interviewed Bianca Manalo, another beauty queen, to confirm if she is dating the president. Bianca admitted having dinner with PNoy and was with her sister, but she insisted she is not dating him.

Thus, the Facebook wish for the president that he not be dumped by another beauty queen given that PNoy is ordinary looking like Janine Tugonon's ex-boyfriend Jaypee Santos.

Meanwhile, in Twitter, people continued to use the enjoy the new figure of speech amid debates on what Janine did was right or wrong.

Gianfrancesco, who uses the handle @joff88, tweeted, "#missuniverse Janine tugonon #grabe, I hope danny o'donoghue will make fool on you!!"

However, Denise Ava (@lookitsava) admonished Janine bashers: "I think people should get off Janine Tugonon's back and get on with their own lives. Her life is the least of their concerns."

Others took the situation with a grain of salt by singing their hearts out. @micaelapapa tweeted, "In last night's videoke session, we dedicated all breakup songs to Jaypee, Janine Tugonon's ex. Ironically, they were all The Script songs."
