María Gabriela Isler is the Miss Universe 2013. It is not the first time that a girl from Venezuela has taken the crown for Miss Universe 2013. You will be surprised to know that Gabriela Isler is the seventh beauty to be crowned the Miss Universe!

Venezuela maintains its record of winning the most crowns in Latin America. In 2009, Venezuela created a record by being the first nation to win in two consecutive years. The other Venezuelan beauty queens include: 1979 Maritza Sayalero (Venezuela); 1981 Irene Sáez (Venezuela); 1986 Bárbara Palacios Teyde (Venezuela); 1996 Alicia Machado (Venezuela); 2008 Dayana Mendoza (Venezuela) and 2009 Stefanía Fernández (Venezuela).

The 25-year-old Isler was the hot favorite of judges ever since the competition began and took home the crown of Miss Universe 2013 in a very calm and composed way throughout the competition. It was not an easy journey for Isler who looked stunning in the silver sparkling gown at the coronation night.

"What is your biggest fear and how do you plan to overcome it?" she was asked by one of the judges at the final rounds.

"Fear is not negative. We should overcome all our fears and this in turn would make us stronger. As soon as we overcome our fears we can face any challenge," answered the gorgeous lady with a perfect confident smile and absolute straightforwardness, which won the judges' hearts.

Miss Spain is the first runner-up, Miss Ecuador is the 2nd runner-up, Miss Philippines is the 3rd runner-up and Miss Brazil is the 4th runner-up

The stunning Miss Venezuela won the coveted Miss Universe 2013 crown on Saturday night, beating 85 other contenders from around the world at a glittering ceremony held in Crocus City Hall, Moscow, Russia.

She has many interesting things stuff to know about. Gabriela is an accomplished dancer who took flamenco dancing lessons when she was a child, but says that her "real training" began when her niece was born. The beauty queen has a maternal side to her as she regularly helped her sister take care of her daughter, and even considers herself a second mother to the child.
