MLB reacts to popular ‘Fallout 4’ mod plus, PornHub suffers viewership decline since the game’s release.
Bethesda’s “Fallout 4” is a massive game featuring a vast open-world and tons of storylines and quests. Despite its size, some players are still eager to have more content through user-created mods. One such much allowed players to experience the game on a new level but one company went against the said mod.
“Fallout 4” is set in a post-apocalyptic Boston and as such, there are several odes to baseball seen in the game. Aside from an entire area based on Fenway Park, there are several weapons in the game that is geared to excite baseball fans. One fan made mod further expands this by adding a uniform of famed Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz.
Combined with the baseball weapons, players get the chance to lay to waste the Commonwealth’s raiders and mutants in style. The mod was well-received by fans but the MLB took the mod the wrong way. The sports association asked for the mod to be pulled down.
“The use of these marks is an infringement of our rights. We plan to enforce those rights,” an MLB spokesman said to the Boston Globe.
Mod creator Richie Branson was surprised at the company’s decision to pull down the mod. He noted that “Fallout 4” included several nods to Boston including the Fenway Park and the Green Monster and he figured that all the game lacked were actual Red Sox Jerseys.
In other “Fallout 4” news, since its release last Nov. 10, adult website PornHub suffered a viewership decrease. All in all, PornHub lost 10% of its gamer fan base since the game launched, Forbes reports. Apparently, the website suffered the biggest decline between 6 AM and noon.
Although there is no sure way to determine the cause of the viewer decline, “Fallout 4” looks to be the culprit in this case. It could all just be one big coincidence but considering that the game is one of the most anticipated titles of 2016, it’s highly likely that “Fallout 4” was indeed the cause.
