MMA News: Cris ‘Cyborg’ Justino Prefers Ronda Rousey’s Soul Over Her Belt
Cris “Cyborg” Justino will not take lying down the latest comments unleashed by Dr. AnnMarie de Mars during her latest interview with Submission Radio. The Invicta FC featherweight champion went with a livid post in her Underground account refuting de Mars claims of her not being able to make weight and Rousey’s plans to break her arm if ever the fight materializes.
The 56-year-old de Mars recently said that Justino has been fighting women of lower weight classes and compared her victories with her daughter winning over one of her little sisters. She also divulged that Rousey’s disdain for her rival is deep-rooted that she will not hesitate to break off one of her arms through her renowned arm bar submission.
The recent comments lit a fire under the Brazilian Justino who again pointed out that she only did not make weight once and guaranteed that she can make weight up to 140 lbs. She even went as far as making an example of UFC bantamweight contender Cat Zingano who started out at the 125 lbs. class and worked her way up similar to what famed Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao has done in his lengthy career. The 29-year-old former handball player even went as far as saying that she is not interested in the bantamweight title of Rousey and is actually going for her soul instead.
“Everybody knows the time is coming. Ms. Housey please sit front row our fight and you will cry. Watch Joanna Jedrzejczyk last fight this is perfect example of how to stop takedown. I don't want your belt, I want your soul,” Justino recently posted in her account at The Underground.
The trash talking Justino even compared Rousey’s mother to the mother of actress and reality television star Kim Kardashian and referred to her as “Honda Mom.” She also spared no time in name name calling Rousey, “Housey.” The latest word war between the two camps is the latest in a span of two years wherein Rousey went as far as labeling Justino guilty of attempted negligent homicide for entering a fight laced with performance enhancing drugs.
Justino has been trying to move down to the 135 lbs. weight class and was scheduled to debut last December only to be held back by a serious ankle injury. De Mars contended that her daughter may consider a catch weight of 140 lbs. but the other camp will have to be willing 10% of the fight purse to the reigning queen of the UFC.
