More Apple apps could come to Android, says CEO Tim Cook
Following Apple’s Q1 earnings report, CEO Tim Cook along with the newly appointed Chief Operating Officer Jeff Williams held a Town Hall meeting at the Infinite Loop headquarters in Cupertino. The purpose of the meeting was primarily to interact with the employees as well as reveal necessary details about the future plans of the company.
In the course of the discussion, Cook revealed that in the coming days, Apple may consider porting more services like iCloud and Apple Pay to Android . Several iCloud services like email, notes, calendar, reminders as well as iMessage can be extended to Android, as reported by Engadget.

In order to grow its service division, Apple will make its own iOS Apps available to other platforms including Android. By releasing Apple Music on Android, the company probably opened the doors for more porting.
According sources attending the town hall, as reported by 9to5Mac, Tim Cook touched on several issues related to releasing cheaper iPhone in growing markets, the future of iPad growth and Apple Watch sales.
After the sluggish sales of iPhones in the last quarter, the company is eager to find out ways to reduce its dependence of the same. Cook hinted to release cheaper iPhones in emerging markets, especially India, which is “one of Apple’s most important growth areas for the next decade .” He also announced that Apple has plans to open retail stores in India.
Tim Cook also mentioned that the company would be bullish on its iPad and expect a revenue growth by the end of this year. Apple is expected to launch its 4-inch iPhone 5se, new bands for Apple Watch and a new iPad Air 3 on March 15.
With high hopes on the fourth-generation Apple TV , Apple CEO Tim Cook said that during the holiday season, the company sold the maximum number of set-top boxes. The tech giant will also open up a new Apple Campus 2 in Cupertino by the end of January 2017. Apple is expected to introduce the highly awaited iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus at its annual fall event in September.
