Refreshing seems like a throwaway word in gaming, where a single game can stretch to how many series installments is pretty much second nature to most blockbuster games. But this time, Sony aims to bring that kind of take on gaming, as it fully embraces indie gaming to its fullest.

In an interview with TechRadar, Boyes revealed that Sony was aiming to aid the ecosystem of gaming to become more robust, without sacrificing the need of gamers to have many choices on what they want to play.

"If you look at the way we built the console, from the way Mark Cerny went and talked to every developer out there, and him being a developer and a creator, Shu Yoshida being the biggest indie fan boy on the planet," said Adam Boyes, VP for developer and publisher relations at Sony, to TechRadar.

"And then I came in and saw the specs for the box, and I was like, 'This is so developer friendly. This is so amazing,'" "I was shocked."

Scott Rohde, VP of product development and Worldwide Studios, also pointed to the PS Vita to enhance the gaming experience even more.

Quoted by PlayStation Lifestyle, Rohde seemed to be implying that the PS Vita will be very much an extension of the next-gen PS4 platform, if only because the indie games that have been announced, may just find their way to the PS Vita as well.

One way for this to happen would be perhaps as part of the Remote Play between the PS4 and the PS Vita to keep the two devices closely interrelated as possible. But it's also expected that, with the support that Sony is pushing for the PS Vita, as a set game ported for the handheld exclusively.

Killzone: Shadow Fall box art revealed

Guerilla Games' exclusive for the PS4 is shaping up to be a very interactive and integrated game, with reports that the PlayGo and Remote Play of Sony's PS4 will be some of the features utilized in the game.

"Seemingly mundane features like PlayGo? We'll make sure that works with this game, so you can start right away as the rest of the game downloads. We'll do Remote Play. You can enjoy it on your Vita as well," said Herman Hulst, head of Guerilla Games, to VG 24/7.

"Essentially, we want to make it a showcase for everything on PlayStation 4, and that includes the inputs. Simple things are included such as the light-bar indicating health, but we've also implemented the touchpad.

As though that's not enough, Sony wants to entice you with the game even more by releasing screenshots and the official box art of the game, which, according to The Koalition, is set for release as a launch title alongside the PS4.

Ray's the Dead rises on PS4

Ray's the Dead was already announced to be coming to the PS4 exclusively at the E3 2013, more details about the upcoming indie game have surfaced, starting with the fact that the project was slated for Kickstarter before coming onboard as a PS4 exclusive.

According to GameSpot, Ragtag Studio was first supposed to be aimed at the PC, Mac, and Linux, but was canceled last month without any official word--until it appeared as an exclusive title for the PS4.

In the game, you get to play commander of your own zombie fleet, in the form of Raymond La Morte, where you travel throughout the suburbs of America, unraveling the mystery of his death.

The game is an action adventure, and potentially one of the many refreshing games that Sony will be churning out following its holiday release this November.
