Motorola's September 4 event is fast approaching, and with that the reports surrounding the tech world expects them to announce have been growing. The Moto G2 is one of the devices expected to be making its debut in the said event. What can users expect from the G2 if reports are to be believed? Below is a roundup of the expected specs, pricing, and release date known so far.

G2 Featured Specs

Reports of the G2's specs have been afloat in the Internet since July, but recently Brazilian retailer Livraria Logos leaked specs on their website that features the most rumored specs so far according to The Droid Life. If the leak is to be believed, the rumored specs show the G2 to be a powerful budget device.

According to the leak from Livraria Logos, specs to expect include a 5-inch 720p HD display powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, with Android 4.4.4 KitKat under the hood. It is also expected to feature an 8 MP primary camera with a 2 MP front-facing camera, with internal memory expandable to 16 GB via microSD, and dual front-facing speakers. Meanwhile, a report from GSMArena adds a Snapdragon 400 chipset, 8 GB internal storage and 1 GB of RAM.

Livraria Logos lists three varieties outside the US: a Color edition, a dual-sim edition, and a Music edition of the G2. No word yet on whether the same varieties will be made available in the US when it is announced officially.

Expected Release Date and Pricing

GSMArena reports that "official sources" say the Moto G2 will start shipping on September 10. If this is to be believed, then the G2 will be readily available just six days after its (also rumored) announcement in the September 4 Motorola event at the IFA 2014. The supposed release date is in line with earlier estimates that the G2 will be released in mid-September, shortly after the IFA event.

Pricing expectations remain unclear, but several reports peg the price tag to be somewhere between the price of the revised Moto G released earlier this year - it came out at $229 - and the more reasonable price of $249 because of its 5-inch screen. GSMArena claims the price will be higher at 250 euros, which is around $329.
