The Moto X (Gen 2) that came out last year in September is now six months old. It is expected to be replaced by the third generation Moto X this year. The Moto X 2015 release date time-frame has been revealed. It won’t be out in the first half of this year but it is expected to release in August or September.

When Motorola’s President, Rick Osterloh was asked on Twitter about the release time-frame of the Moto X 2015 release this year, he answered by stating that the company would adhere to its annual cycle strategy for all its products including the third generation Moto X.

The original Motorola Moto X was released in August 2013. Its successor, the Motorola Moto X 2014 was released in September last year. Since the company is confirmed to stick to its usual annual release cycle, the Moto X 2015 will probably arrive in August or September, states Phone Arena.

In February, Motorola and Qualcomm had announced, that a Moto X flagship featuring the Snapdragon 810 chipset will arrive this year. Even though Motorola did not proclaim the name of the device that will come loaded with Snapdragon 810 SoC, the rumour mill claims that most likely the device in talks is the Moto X Gen 3.

According to another post from Phone Arena, the Moto X Gen 3 is going to smarter than any other smartphones available. The always-on Moto Voice feature on the predecessor model powered with exclusive co-processors can recognize voice commands of the user without impacting the performance of the battery of the device. The Moto X Gen 3 is expected to come with such kind of advanced and unmatched features that are not found on any other smartphone.

One of the salient features of the Moto X smartphones is that Motorola provides dedicated handset customisation service called the Moto Maker. The Moto X 2015 is pegged to feature it along with a stock edition of the latest Android OS edition.
