Moto X 2015 Release Date Set For September: To Feature 16MP Camera With OIS, 4K And Slo-Mo Recording Support Along With Clear Pixel Tech
In September 2014, Motorola unveiled the second-generation Moto X or Moto X 2014. But now, information about third-generation Moto X, also referred as Moto X 2015, is already making rounds in the blogosphere. A few days back, a slew of Moto X 2015 specifications got leaked. However, now, several clarifications on the reported features have surfaced.
Earlier leak suggested that the Motorola Moto X 2015 will feature a 16 MP rear-facing camera unit with Clear Pixel technology. In addition, the front-facing shooter unit will apparently be a gracious 5 MP unit for capturing selfies and video chats. Meanwhile, the new report from STJS Gadgets suggests that, the 16 MP primary camera unit on the next-generation Moto X 2015 will come with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) support in order to put an end to the shaky hands sabotaging the otherwise impressive image/video capture. To top it off, the primary camera unit will reportedly be capable of recording 4K and slow motion videos. For instance, when the camera is in 1080p mode, the sensor will be able to record at 120 fps. In case, readers are shooting at 720p, the video can be captured at 240 fps. In the meantime, the Motorola Moto X 2014 comes with a 13 MP primary snapper and a 2 MP secondary shooter.
According to an earlier STJS Gadgets report, the key Moto X 2015 specifications include a 5.2-inch display bundled with a killer 2K or Quad HD screen resolution of 1,440 x 2,560 pixels. This display combination boils down to an impressive pixel density of 565 ppi. In comparison, the Moto X 2014 comes with the same display, nevertheless, the screen resolution is 1,080 x 1,920 pixels. Meanwhile, it is worth noting that, the next-gen Moto X shares the same resolution as the other Motorola device DROID Turbo, says Phone Arena.
When it comes to hardware configuration, the Moto X 2015 will apparently be powered by a hexa-core (Snapdragon 808) SoC and will be backed by a monstrous 4 GB of RAM unit. In comparison, the Moto X 2014 comes powered by a Snapdragon 801 processor and backed by 2 GB of RAM configuration. Furthermore, the upcoming phone will reportedly run on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box, while the predecessor runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS.
As far as the memory configuration goes, the handset will come equipped with 32 GB or 64 GB of internal storage capacity, which is same as the predecessor. Lastly, the gen-next Moto X 2015 release date is reportedly tipped for September. In any case, readers should note that, Motorola has not confirmed the Moto X 2015 specifications or release date so far.
