Motorola is apparently planning to roll out the Android 5.1 Lollipop update for the first-generation Moto devices, instead of the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update. The Gen 1 devices seemingly include Motorola Moto X, Moto E and Moto G 4G LTE. Meanwhile, Verizon has reportedly started sending out the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for Samsung Galaxy Note 4.

Android 5.1 Lollipop Update For Moto X, Moto E And Moto G

Apparently, David Schuster, Software Product Manager of Motorola, has announced on his Google+ page that the company is testing both builds of Android on the first-generation Moto X, Moto E and Moto G LTE. Going by the account, Motorola has reportedly planned to jump to the Android 5.1 Lollipop update because of all the new improvements and fixes. Also, it is worth noting that, the first generation devices mentioned above are currently running on Android KitKat OS, notes Phone Arena.

Schuster’s Google+ account says, “As some of you might know, we've been testing Lollipop 5.0.2 upgrades on Moto X (1st Gen), Moto E (1st Gen) and Moto G with 4G LTE (1st Gen) in several regions. In parallel we have started testing Lollipop 5.1 which was recently released by Google.” “Given the improvements in Lollipop 5.1, we have decided to move all efforts to upgrade these devices directly from KitKat to Lollipop 5.1,” he adds further.

On the other hand, Motorola has already rolled out the Android 5.1 Lollipop update to Motorola Moto G Google Play edition over-the-air (OTA). In any case, Schuster has not specified the release date of the Android 5.1 Lollipop update to Moto X, Moto E and Moto G. However, the tech giant has already tested the latest Android build and therefore, the roll out date could be any time soon, notes the same site.

Android 5.0 Lollipop Update For Samsung Galaxy Note 4

Moving on to Verizon’s Samsung Galaxy Note 4, GSM Arena says, the carrier has apparently rolled out the Android 5.0 Lollipop update. It’s worth reminding that, the Galaxy Note 4 under AT&T and Sprint has already received the OS update. Apparently, Verizon has published the update documentation for Note 4 on its portal.

Notably, the OTA update has apparently been rolled out in phases and therefore, it could take a few days before reaching all the Note 4 handsets. In any case, the Galaxy Note 4 users can manually check the device for updates by navigating to Settings -> About phone -> Software updates.

As always, the battery should be at least 50 percent full and the device is expected to have 1.7 GB of free space. And lastly, after the download and installation, the build should reportedly show the following version LRX22C.N910VVRU1BOAF.
