The Moto X is not exempted, it will get the Nexus treatment soon just like the Galaxy S4, HTC One and Xperia Z before it and Google has confirmed about the stock Android edition, reports said.

According to The Verge, the Moto X Google Edition is coming out 'soon' but Google is keeping its lips sealed for the moment so consumers will have to wait a bit further on details about release date and pricing.

But it should be safe to assume that launch date would be a little later than the projected Moto X debut, which according to Motorola will take place either in late August or early September.

For the Nexus-flavoured, the realistic target date should be late September but it would be hardly surprising if Google opts for a simultaneous outing with the new Motorola flagship.

And expect the unit price to level with that of the other Google Edition brands, which are downright pricey. Yet as a mid-range phone, the stock Android Moto X should go between $300 and $400, giving it a competitive pricing against the entries from Samsung, Sony, HTC and most importantly the budget iPhone 5C that Apple will begin shipping out in September.

It is also expected that the bloatware-free Moto X will hit the store shelves ahead of the rumoured Nexus 5, which to date remains a mystery in terms of who will assemble this Nexus 4 replacement.

The strongest contender so far is LG and if that would be true, then we should see its release date by November 2013 or a few months after the Moto X commercial availability, both for the regular and Nexus-like editions.

So by the time the native Android-clad Moto X comes out, smartphone shoppers can look forward to the exciting fusion of raw Jelly Bean 4.3 power (assumingly the version to come right out of the box) and the new killer features that Motorola is bringing to the table.

Among them are the 'always listening' function that predicts tasks users want to perform, customisation option and the 'Quick Camera' that pulls up the shooting app automatically with a specific hand gesture.

Packed inside the Moto X is a powerful 2200mAh battery that lasts for 24 hours and keeping these components menu humming: a Snapdragon S4 Pro processor with a 1.7GHz dual-core Krait CPU, quad-core Adreno 320 GPU plus 2GB of RAM. All these should be in the Google Edition on its release date.
