Moto X Undergoes Torture Test; Droid Maxx is Verizon’s Best Android Smartphone (VIDEOS & PHOTOS)
Mobile phone lovers are familiar with Samsung vs Apple cell phone torture tests shown over you tube, showing their respective flagship devices scrapped by coins, dropped from heights, immersed in water, hit with hammers and in one video crushed by utility vehicles.
The following video is not a comparison of the physical strength of two devices, but of a newly released device considered not within the league of Galaxy or iPhone brands, but relatively strong on its own.
This is the torture tests of the Moto X, which was subjected to scratches on the screen, back and side using a key and a knife, and finally being hit of all sides. The results are pretty impressive, said PhoneBuff, which conducted the torture tests that lasted more than 4 minutes, as seen below:
After the three sets of tests, the Moto X was still functioning well, with the only damage some scratches on the surface and a discoloration on one part of the screen.
From the Moto X, we move to the Motorola Droid Maxx, which was reviewed by CNET. The tech Web site cited as the plus points of this newly launched gadget its "astonishingly long battery life, large colourful screen and durable, attractive design.
It also pointed to the good photos taken by the phone's shooter and its inventive tricks like voice commands, screen-based notifications and a quick-launch camera.
However, the CNET review pointed out that its $299.99 price tag is considered too high, but overall, with its massive screen, the Motorola Droid Maxx is still considered Verizon's best Android smartphone.
The basis for that recognition is the five stars given by the CNET editors to the Droid Maxx, while the Samsung Galaxy 4, priced at $99.99, got four and a half stars; HTC One, also at $99.99, got four stars; Apple iPhone 5, starting at $149.99, had four stars; and the Nokia Lumia 1020, which costs $299.99, likewise merited four stars.
CNET stressed that the Droid Maxx is more than just a capable device but almost the best smartphone that Verizon ever sold given its very long battery life, full 32GB of internal storage and Google's list of futuristic Android extras.
Android Authority also gave the model a good review in this video.
