Moto X successor, apparently dubbed as "Moto X+1," is set to be released in various colors, according to a reputable source. Also, it might be sold with leather backplates in 25 options.

Tipster @eveleaks said the device will also be available in four woods or natural choices of walnut, teak, ebony and bamboo. Motorola may drop the walnut and go for the rosewood finish. If that will be the case, Moto X+1 will be in red, blue, black and gray leathers. But it is not clear yet whether the faux finish will be of authentic leather.

In February, Motorola confirmed Moto X's next version will be rolled out late in summer. While Moto X is still unveiling in some markets, the reports about its successor have started to go viral online.

An image leaked by @evleaks suggested the name of the Moto X's successor as Moto X+1. The tipster did not reveal anything else, except that Motorola will bring its 2014 device at storefronts sooner.

Moto G is Motorola's most famous mobile device, but the new Moto X+1 could change that. The smartphone, rumored to arrive this summer with its 25-option leather back, is seen to be a big move this year.

Moto X+1 release date has not given us much data regarding its specifications. But it was imagined the successor will still have Moto X as its basis.

The expected phone has provided excellent UX, user-interface and features. To this day, Motorola kept the Snapdragon S4 processor, with core processor and other features such as touchless controls, active display and 24-hour battery life with 2,200 mAh battery.

Moto X also has Moto Maker, giving users exactly what they wanted with customization option like color variations and build material so the user's name can be inscribed on the device.

The Moto X response was so positive that Motorola diverging too far from this is totally out of perceptions. Rather, it is expected Moto X+1 to still have the UX, UI and features of Moto X with some modest hardware spec upgrades for the device to become more competitive.

One of the things that keep Moto X+1 interesting is that it will give an idea how much Lenovo could be in Motorola.

The Chinese company Lenovo acquired Motorola and promised to go on manufacturing quality smartphones under the Motorola name.
