The Moto X+1 release date this 2014 is far from being confirmed but the stuff that the device is made of is fast shaping and the latest details are provided by a Brazilian retail player.

According to Droid Life, key specs and features of the next Moto X are spilled out in what appeared as advanced advertising for the Motorola flagship phone by Livraria Logos, which has previously outed information about the Moto E prior to its commercial debut.

As it turned out, the leak proved true, which points to the likelihood that what Livraria is talking about the Moto X+1 could eventually become real. And this is despite the absence of any confirmation from Motorola.

Droid Life listed the X+1 specs and feature as the following:

§ A 5.2-inch Full HD display with 1920 x 1080 screen pixels

§ Android KitKat 4.4.4

§ Quad-core 2.26GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chip

§ 12MP rear cam and 5MP on front

§ Up to 2GB of RAM

§ Wi-Fi, 4G/3G/2G, Bluetooth and NFC wireless connectivity

§ Basic 32GB of memory with microSD support for up to 128GB

§ Battery 2900mAh rating

Now when these are compared with existing and upcoming hero phones - Android or iOS - the X+1 seems easily overwhelmed but the in real world the device can actually measure even with the iPhone 6.

And below are the four ways that the Moto X+1 can beat the hotly anticipated smartphone from Apple:

Practical specifications

As early as the Moto X last year, Motorola has made clear that it does not intend to slug it out with the giants out there so when the supposed Moto X+1 specs are pitted against the rumoured iPhone 6 - bannered by a 64-bit A8 chip, fresh form-factor and a screen size of 5.5-inch - the latter will dwarf over the former.

However, it doesn't mean that the Motorola device will easily taper off. There are many practical things to like about the Moto X+1, according to experts, and among them are cool features that are exclusive to the device. One example is the Always On feature that allows users to quickly wake up the X+1 from stand by. Also, as seen from the specs above the upcoming smartphone is not easy to upend.

Virtually unlimited storage space

The Moto X+1 is said to boast of a 32GB internal memory that when filled up can be expanded by up to 126GB of extra space, thanks to the microSD slot that the device is designed with, that is according to Droid Life.

If true, the handset will easily leave the iPhone 6 behind in the digital locker battle even if the rumour will prove correct that Apple will issue a variant of the phone with 128GB of built-in storage. Note, however, that like in previous iterations the next iPhone is without a memory expansion option.

Ecosystem

Once upon a time, the Android-iOS war is a lopsided match in favour of Apple. But things have changed notably in the smartphone arena and according to experts, Google's mobile computing environment is now in equal footing with that of iOS, or even for some.

It could be that the bottom line is - it is a matter of preference for users though in reality the Google mobile OS and its ecosystem can readily make for a satisfying and productive mobile device experience.

Affordability

The Moto X was introduced at around $400 and the expectation is, it will be the same price point that will accompany the Moto X+1, unlocked. This means that the handset is ready for take home at half the price of the iPhone 6 that reportedly will launch bearing a sticker of around $850 in most markets.

Motorola has already stated that the Moto X+1 release date will be 'late summer of 2014' or between August and September.
