The company started soak test for 2014 Moto X (2nd Gen) in Australia and New Zealand.
The owners of the Motorola Droid Turbo 2 Employee Editions, exclusive to Verizon employees starts getting the sweet taste of Marshmallow. Last week Motorola quietly updated its list of devices getting the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update which included Droid Turbo 2 and Droid Maxx 2.
Verizon employees have been receiving the update for about a week now, report Droid Life. This indicates that Verizon will soon begin the mass roll out of the firmware. The updated list of Motorola devices also included 2015 Moto E (2nd Gen) with 4G LTE.
The update reads software version 24.11.13, which will introduce Marshmallow features like Doze mode, Google Now on Tap, Apps permission, Android Pay, Direct Share and Auto Backup.
Doze mode augments battery life as the phone goes into a sleep mode once it senses that the device is not in use. Now on tap will continue to provide contextual information whereas the Direct Share will enable the user to share photos and links faster than ever.
In the meantime, Motorola started a soak test for 2015 Moto X Style (3rd Gen) in more than 20 countries including Italy, Poland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Germany, Spain, Portugal, France, Belgium, Netherlands, France and the UK, as confirmed by Motorola's David Schuster on Google+.
Schuster also added that the company has also commenced soak testing the Marshmallow update for 2014 Moto X (2nd Gen) in Australia, New Zealand, India and the UK among other countries. Last week, Motorola released the firmware update for the Moto X Pure Edition (3rd Gen) on major US carriers including Verizon, Sprint, and US Cellular.
Motorola clarified that the company would revamp its signature Moto Enhancements as a part of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. It will remove overlapping features like Moto Assist which resembles ‘Do Not Disturb’ and Motorola Migrate which is similar to auto-backup feature of Marshmallow.
