Motorola Droid Turbo vs Samsung Galaxy Note 4 – S-Pen Is Note’s 4 USP But Droid Turbo Can Outshine With Larger Battery
Undoubtedly, the Galaxy Note 4 is one of the most popular smartphones of the year. It is the first handset to feature the new Snapdragon 805 chipset. Many major handsets that arrived after it still features the older Snapdragon 801 or 800 chipset. In comes the all new Motorola Droid Turbo with specs quite similar to that of Galaxy Note 4. We have compared the two to know how they pit against each other:
Quad HD Screen
The Galaxy Note 4 as well as the Droid Turbo feature Super AMOLED display screen that support quad HD resolutions of 1,440 x 2,560 pixels. However, both the displays vary in size. The Snapdragon 805 chipset on both the smartphones comprise of Krait 450 quad-core processor that offers a processing speed of 2.7 GHz. It is accompanied with Adreno 420 graphics and 3 GB RAM. Both the handsets are capable of supporting heavy 3D games. With more number of RAM onboard, users can experience smooth multitasking on the both the devices. Since both feature the same CPU chipset, the performance of the both the handsets can be determined through the operating system along with the proprietary skins they are loaded with.
Android v4.4.4 KitKat (Upgradable to Android 5.0 Lollipop)
The Android v4.4.4 KitKat on Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is overlaid with TouchWiz UI. Since the handset features S-Pen stylus, Samsung has plenty of dedicated features designed for the intuitive stylus such Smart Select, Screen Write and Action Memo along with the Multi-Window mode for running two apps simultaneously by splitting the screen.
Motorola Droid Turbo is also running on the Android v4.4.4 KitKat OS. It is also packed with exclusive software features from the manufacture like Moto Display, Moto Voice, Moto Assist and Moto Actions and some other dedicated features like Zap Zone and Zap to TV. Since the handset is available through Verizon, it also features few apps from the carrier.
Battery
The Galaxy Note 4 features 3,220 mAh replicable battery. According to Galaxy Note 4 battery life test report, the handset offers a 3G talk time of over 28 hours, continuous web browsing for over 10 hours and over 17 hours of continuous video watching. The fast charging technology onboard can charge the Note 4 from zero to half capacity in 30 minutes.
Motorola Droid Turbo houses a massive 3,900 mAh non-removable battery that can last up to 48 hours claims CNET. According to PhoneArena, the humongous battery can perform longer than that one present inside the Note 4 because the Droid Turbo features a lightweight UI. Also, the Motorola Turbo Charger when used for charging the handset can produce a power of over 8 hours by simply charging for 15 minutes.
The S-Pen stylus and related apps can swing in Note 4's favor but the larger battery and smaller display of Droid Turbo may find more buyers who do not want wish to want to invest on a huge phablet.
