Motorola Moto 360 Sport and Fitbit Blaze will be available on Verizon from Jan. 7
Starting today, Verizon Wireless will start selling three fitness wearable including Motorola’s latest smartwatch Moto 360 Sport and Fitbit Blaze. Last year, Motorola announced the Moto 360 Sport along with the 2nd generation of Moto 360 back in September.
For a “healthy start to 2016” Verizon will sell the Moto 360 Sport for US$299.99 (AU$426). The smartwatch will be available in Black, Flame and White colour variants. The Moto 360 Sport is also available from the official Motorola website at the same price.
The IP67 certified, water and dust resistant Moto 360 Sport has an optical heart rate monitor (PPG) and ambient light sensor. The screen automatically adjusts to the brightness of the surroundings. With a 300 mAh battery on board the smartwatch stays live for a day of mixed usage.
Verizon has already started accepting online pre-orders for another new wearable device, Fitbit Blaze for US$199.99 (AU$284). The device was announced this week at the CES 2016 in Las Vegas. However, there is no clarity on when Verizon will start shipping the wearable device.
Blaze is not a smartwatch but a fitness and activity tracker which keeps a tab on the user’s heart rate and various other activities, reports The Verge. On Verizon, Fitbit Blaze is available in Black, Blue and Plum colour options with additional interchangeable bands. The smart device does not work on Android Wear, but can be paired with many Android, iOS, and Windows handsets via Bluetooth.
Verizon said in a press release that it will also sell the Fitbit Charge at a discounted price of US$99.99 (AU$142) until end of January. Previously the cost of the smartband was US$129.99.
“It accurately track steps taken, distance traveled, calories burned, stairs climbed, and active minutes. And it can also monitor how long and how well you sleep and wake with a silent vibrating alarm,” says Verizon.
