The wallet-friendly, mid-range Motorola Moto G smartphone will apparently be getting a successor in the form of the third-generation Moto G 2015. Needless to say, rumours and leaks pertaining to the upcoming device have been quite rife. However, now, a new report points to a press render of the Moto G in white hue.

As it turns out, the leaked image of the Moto G 2015 was apparently sent to the site Techno Buffalo by a credible tipster. Going by the image, the Moto device looks a lot like the predecessor, however, the handset is rather polished, notes Phone Arena. Also, the codename of the upcoming device is “Osprey” and the associated model number is reportedly “XT1540.”

As far as the reported Moto G 2015 specifications go, the handset is believed to come with a pocket-friendly 4.97-inch display, aided by 720 x 1,280 pixels screen resolution. Under the hood, the device will reportedly to be powered by a (Qualcomm Snapdragon 410) processor and backed by a modest 1 GB of RAM unit.

When it comes to camera configuration, the third-generation Moto G 2015 will apparently sport a 13 MP rear-facing unit, in addition to a good 5 MP front-facing snapper for selfies and video chats. Speaking of memory specification, this smartphone will reportedly come equipped with 8 GB of built-in storage capacity. However, there’s no word on the expandable storage option, at this point.

Furthermore, apart from the standard connectivity options, the Moto G 2015 will also support 4G LTE. On the software end, the handset will apparently run on the latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS, straight out of the box.

On the other hand, the Moto G 2015 release date has not been made official yet. However, the second-generation model was unveiled back in September 2014. Hence, the successor’s release time frame could very well be in September, says Techno Buffalo. In the meantime, interested readers can check out the press render of the upcoming Moto device from Techno Buffalo. In any case, readers should note that, Motorola has not confirmed the Moto G 2015 specifications thus far.

What do you think of the configurations of the Moto G 2015? Should Motorola opt for a better processor than the relatively inexpensive Snapdragon 410 and in turn, amp up the RAM unit? Feel free to leave a comment.
