South Korean multinational LG recently unrolled its premium flagship phone LG G3. The smart phone will be available from AT&T on July 11 and Sprint on July 18. Meanwhile, American telecommunications corporation Motorola Mobility is set to update to Motorola Moto G to Android L once the operating system is available. So how does Motorola Moto G fare against LG G3?

Price

When it comes to price, LG G3 is several times more expensive compared with Motorola Moto G. According to the LG Australia Web site, LG G3 costs AU$799 while Motorola Moto G costs only AU$190 at the Motorola Web site. With this price, smart phone buyers can already get four units of Motorola Moto G for the price of one LG G3.

Physical Appearance

At first look, LG G3 is bigger and thinner but slightly heavier compared with Motorola Moto G. According to GSM Arena, LG G3 measures 146.3 mm in height, 74.6 mm in width, and 8.9 mm in depth weighing 149 g. Meanwhile, Motorola Web site stated that Motorola Moto G measures 129.9 mm in height, 65.9 mm in width, and 6.0-11.6 mm in curved depth weighing 143 g.

Display

With LG G3's bigger physical appearance comes bigger display than Motorola Moto G. According to the LG Australia Web site, LG G3 has a 5.5-inch quad high definition display with a whopping screen resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, which equals to a high-end gaming monitor. It also has a staggering screen resolution of 534 pixels per inch (ppi). On the other hand, Motorola Web site cited that Motorola Moto G only has 4.5-inch display with a screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and an image density of 329 ppi.

Processors and Operating Systems

When it comes to processors and operating systems, both Motorola Moto G and LG G3 run on Android 4.4 KitKat OS. They also have the same Qualcomm Snapdragon processors but with LG G3 having better specs. The same sources cited above stated that Motorola Moto G only has Qualcomm quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz while LG G3 sports Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.5GHz.

Memory

When it comes to memory, LG G3 also has better specs than Motorola Moto G. LG Australia also mentioned that the 16 GB model of LG G3 has 2 GB of RAM and the 32 GB model has 3 GB of RAM. Meanwhile, Motorola Web site stated that Motorola Moto G only has 1 GB of RAM and only 8 GB or 16 GB internal memory. However, the smart phone comes with free cloud storage service of up to 50 GB on Google Drive.

Camera

LG G3 also sports a much better camera compared with Motorola Moto G. LG Australia Web site also cited that its premium flagship phone has 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and 2.1 megapixel front-facing camera. It features phase detection/laser autofocus, optical image stabilization, dual-LED (dual tone) flash, and check quality features.

On the other hand, Motorola Web site also indicated that Motorola Moto G only has 5-megapixel rear-facing camera and 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. It features LED flash, 4X digital zoom, slow motion video, burst mode, auto HDR, panorama, and tap to focus.

Other Features

The front and back cameras of Motorola Moto G allows users to tap anywhere in the phone's display to take a shot, capture panoramic pictures or record HD video, then quickly share the photos and videos to family and friends in just three clicks. It also comes with different colors for its interchangeable shells. It even permits quick and easy wireless transfer of data from the old smart phone units to the Motorola Moto G unit.

Meanwhile, LG G3 comes with Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0, and LTE-Advanced capabilities. It also has built-in accelerometer which will help smart phone users track their body's tilt and motion. The smart phone also has a built-in wireless charging capability and has Smart Notice, Smart Cleaning, and Smart Keyboard included. There is also a quick circle window case which displays six icons for easier access. It even sports one step home screen access called KnockCode so that users can have greater privacy and easier access on their smart phone units.
