Motorola Moto X Launch in July/August to Battle Samsung Galaxy Note 3, iPhone 5S Release Dates?
Motorola Moto X is expected to be released in July or August and will jump into the smartphone battle with iPhone 5S and Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
iPhone 5S and Samsung Galaxy Note 3 are also rumoured to be released this summer or fall.
Moto X will enter the battlefield in the smartphone market. There is an intense competition between rival companies such as Apple and Samsung, which are the two companies that are currently dominating the market.
An executive of LG Electronics confirmed that the company is not working on the successor of the popular LG Nexus 4 dubbed as Nexus 5. Vice President of LG Mobile in Europe Won Kim said in a statement: "The Nexus 4 was a great success despite the production problems for us and Google. However we do not need such a marketing success again."
An insider leak has confirmed that the device would come in October 2013, as we previously speculated and would accompany Key Lime Pie 5.0. That matches up with the release dates of other Motorola devices like the Droid Razr.
Google has long lacked the ability to produce its own devices, which is why it often partners with companies like Samsung (Samsung Galaxy S4 "Google Edition"), LG (Nexus 4) and Asus (Nexus 7 and Nexus 7 2) to produce "hero" Android devices. With the acquisition of Motorola Mobility, Google gained the ability to produce its own line of devices.
However, other analysts at first believed the Motorola X and Nexus 5 would be separate devices. Motorola is just one of the many manufacturers that Google may collaborate with. Despite the unconfirmed rumours, Motorola seemed to be exerting its efforts in the production of the Motorola X.
Rumour has it that the Moto X set to be released in October will run with Android5.0 Key Lime Pie. It will sport a 4.7 or 4.8 inches of 1080 screen display. The device will be powered by a quad-core processor.
The rear camera of the Moto X is a 12MP Exmor camera from Sony. It is speculated that the smartphone will have a huge storage up to 128GB with microSD card slot. Lastly, it will pack a 3300 mAh battery.
The Moto X phone will have some incredible internal specs, according to early leaks. It is reported that the Moto X phone could have a "5-inch display...In addition, the camera is reportedly 10 megapixels, less than the 13 megapixels on the Samsung Galaxy S4 but more than the 8 megapixels on the iPhone 5." The specs will rival the iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy S4, since Motorola Mobility is betting so heavily on the phone. Reports also claimed that Moto X phone could be cheap just like LG Nexus 4.
