Verizon Wireless and Motorola Mobility announced that new upgrades for Motorola's Xoom 4G LTE are now available for customers.

Xoom 4G LTE is Motorola's flagship in tablets. With the upgrade, the user can expect download speed ranging from five to 12 mbps and upload speed from two to five mbps.

The 4G LTE upgrade is free and current customers no longer have to alter their data plan to get it. Customers who want their tablets upgraded will get their devices back after six business days.

When the customers are out of the coverage of the 4G LTE, the Xoom tablet automatically connects to the 3G network to allow user to stay connected.

Existing Xoom costumers may visit the Web site to get access of the complete instruction of the 4G LTE upgrade.

Upgraded Xoom 4G LTE tablets will be available on Verizon stores on Oct.13. Current data plans still apply.

  • Adobe® Flash® 10- enabling the delivery of rich Flash based web content including videos, casual games and applications
  • 2-megapixel front-facing camera for video chats over 4G LTE, 3G and WiFi
  • 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash
