Good news for Motorola smartphone owners and users for 10 of their handsets are getting Android 4.4 KitKat starting with Moto X. AT&T, U.S. Cellular and Verizon customers along with Moto X Developer's Edition are all eligible to get latest Android version.

Motorola Announced Official List of Android 4.4 Recipients

Motorola finally confirmed 10 different smartphones getting an official Android 4.4 KitKat upgrade soon. Moto X of Verizon is the starting point and now getting Android 4.4 KitKat live via firmware over-the-air procedure or via Motorola Device Manager on a computer.

Moto X Developer's Edition is likely the next landing of the official 4.4 firmware which may be delivered via FOTA or Motorola Device Manager as well.

Aside from Moto X in Verizon, other devices supported by the network carrier are also getting next-generation Android version and it includes:

1. Droid Ultra

2. Droid Maxx

3. Droid Mini

4. Droid RAZR HD

5. Droid RAZR Maxx HD

6. Droid RAZR M

Developer's Edition of RAZR HD and RAZR M are both eligible to receive Android 4.4 KitKat along with other announced smartphones by Motorola.

But that's not all, AT&T customers using ATRIX HD and U.S. Cellular owners of Electrify M are also receiving official Android 4.4 KitKat update - a surprising move since ATRIX HD and Electrify M are dated phones.

Online Tool for Checking

If you are doubtful about this, you may check Motorola's online support tool to check Android 4.4 KitKat designation on your smartphone. Simply select the network carrier of your smartphone then the model variant and see Android 4.4 KitKat notification below.

Motorola's announcement and online support tool brings good news, however, there is no timeframe or release date included to the notification for your model. The only basis of rollout dates is the update push happening right now on Moto X Verizon variant.
