Motorola Officially Announces The List Of Smartphones That Are To Receive Android 5.0 Lollipop Update
The Google Nexus 6 is the only the smartphone to come preloaded with the Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. Apart from other Google Nexus devices, the Google Play Edition devices are going to receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update.
Among other smartphone manufacturers, the only major brand that has revealed a list of devices that are going to get the Android L update is Motorola. According to Motorola's official blog, the first and the second generation Moto X, the first and the second generation Moto G, Moto G with 4G LTE, Moto E and Droid line of devices that include the Droid Ultra, Droid Maxx and Droid Mini are the Motorola smartphones that are going to receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update very soon.
As of now, Motorola has not disclosed when the Android Lollipop update will come to the above mentioned devices. According to PhoneArena, the possible reason why Google is making the Android 5.0 Lollipop readily available for Motorola is that the new Nexus 6 phablet is manufactured by Motorola.
The Motorola Nexus 6 is the first ever device from the manufacture to support quad HD resolution of 1,440 x 2,560 pixels. The 5.9-inch Super AMOLED display supports 493 ppi. The device measures 159.2 x 82.3 x 10 mm that makes the device large enough to compete with the likes of Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and iPhone 6 Plus.
The Snapdragon 805 chipset that powers up the Google Nexus 6 produces a clocking speed of 2.7 GHz. It also features Adreno 420 graphics and 3 GB RAM. The internal storage options available with Nexus 6 are 32 GB and 64 GB.
The rear side of the Motorola Nexus 6 features 13 MP camera. It is equipped with features like dual-LED flash and OIS and 2,160p at 30 fps video recording. Above the display, the handset houses a 2 MP camera.
The Google Nexus 6 is packed with 3,220 mAh battery. The front side of the phablet features two stereo speakers. The 32 GB Nexus 6 is priced at $649 and the 64 GB edition is priced at $699. The Motorola Nexus 6 will be available through all the leading U.S. carriers in the U.S.
