Motorola has added four new smartphones to its list of devices worthy of getting the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. In early October, it announced the list of devices that would get a taste of the latest version of Google’s Android operating system.

The official Motorola Blog quietly included Moto X Force, DROID Turbo 2, DROID Maxx 2 and 2015 Moto E (2nd Gen) with 4G LTE.

The Android v6.0 update will bring with it a Doze mode, Now on Tap, Android Pay, direct share and simpler volume controls, said Bjorn Kilburn vice president, Software Product Management at Motorola in a blog post.

The addition of the DRIOD Turbo 2 and DROID Maxx 2 aren’t that surprising. The Verizon exclusive devices with ShatterShield tech and longer battery life were launched in late October. As confirmed by Motorola's David Schuster on Google+, the company has already started a soak test for Moto X Force in Brazil. It’s expected Motorola might soon start testing the firmware in other regions.

Moto E (2nd Gen) with 4G LTE support will be getting the update in select locations including Canada, Latin America, Europe and Asia but excluding China. Surprisingly, the update won’t be available in the U.S. In an earlier update in mid-November, Schuster mentioned the Moto E (1st Gen) with LTE will remain on Lollipop 5.1.

In the meantime, Motorola started full deployment of Android 6.0 Marshmallow on 2015 Moto X Pure Edition (3rd Gen) on major U.S. carriers including AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and US Cellular.

The 2015 Moto X Style also started getting the software in Latin America. Schuster also revealed the Moto X Style (3rd Gen) will start getting the Marshmallow update in both Brazil and India along with the Moto X (2nd Gen) in Brazil.
