Ms. Marvel, Captain America and more confirmed for 'Avengers Academy' mobile game
After a vague tease, Marvel and developer Tiny Co have revealed some of the students in “Avengers Academy” game for mobile devices. The characters are a mix of those popular with fans of the films – Loki, Captain America, Iron Man – and those that are popular in the comics like Kamala Khan, also known as Ms. Marvel.
Most of these reimagined characters keep their traits from either the films or the comics, so Tony Stark still likes building things and Loki still likes tormenting his brother Thor, which can be seen in the video below. Other characters seem to have adapted traits from various films about teenagers, like Black Widow being a loner who doesn’t get along with anyone or Captain America being a jock.
Speaking of Black Widow, an article from Newsarama has confirmed that the character is trying to solve the secret of “Avengers Academy.” Previous reports stated that there is something big happening behind the scenes and that these are the same Avengers fans know and love who have somehow been turned into teenagers.
The official press release of the game has also confirmed that more than a hundred characters from the Marvel universe will be seen in the title. Nick Fury will supposedly be the head of the academy, and it will be interesting to see which character gets the next teenage characteristic.
It is worth noting that the mobile game has nothing to do with the “Avengers Academy” series written by Christos Gage and drawn by a variety of artists. This can be considered a bit of a shame, as fans and critics alike praised “Avengers Academy,” which lasted for 39 issues.
Gameplay details for the “Avengers Academy” continue to be vague, though previous statements revealed that the game would allow players to take their favourite Avengers on dates and fight bad guys. No new details about the title have been released, nor has its launch date been announced. However, it seems like “Avengers Academy” is one of the more ambitious mobile games under the Marvel banner, and it will be interesting to see how it fares among fans and gamers.
