Motorola announced in Mobile World Congress Q&A session that the Google-Lenovo deal will not affect Moto - its users, X variant and smartwatch. Another version of Moto X handset is set to launch in "late summer" though design and specs were not revealed. However, it is interesting to know that the company will not be stopping its Moto Maker formula under its new Chinese owner Lenovo.

Motorola is also ready to bring Moto X to India, though there is no specified exact date and price yet. It was not long when the company launched Moto G, the highly anticipated phone that hit the Indian market. The smartphone received excellent reviews since its launch in the last quarter of 2013. It is the most successful phone ever launched by Motorola.

Motorola is also keeping pace with the new trend of wearables making. It intends to go for device style and battery life, while others are concentrating on building fitness-focused wrist bands. It seems to design great-looking accessory instead.

Moto X

Moto X debuted in the U.S. in August 2013 as a customizable smartphone. In early February, it landed in the UK without Moto Maker. At the Barcelona Mobile Congress, Rick Osterloh, Motorola senior vice-president announced that Moto Maker will be in Europe in the second quarter of 2014 so customers can also customize their Moto X phones.

SVP of Supply Chain and Operations Mark Randall said that the manufacturing plant of Moto X will still be in Texas though the company is eyeing Europe for options.

Moto X variant

As for the Moto X variant that it is working on, there are no hints of the details yet except that it will be launched sometime in late summer. The company has been good at releasing updates for its phones. Moto G has begun to receive Android 4.4 KitKat in India. Even with the ongoing deal for Lenovo to acquire the Google-owned Motorola, the updates will not slow down, neither will the deal affect Motorola users. The company also disclosed that they plan to continue with Android, not other operating systems like Windows Phone and Tizen.

With its new Chinese owner Lenovo, Motorola devices are expected to conquer the Chinese market, but Motorola said that it is not in the plans yet, though it mentioned that China can be a huge market.
