Villagers in a remote area of Thailand are terrified over the discovery of a mysterious creature born to a buffalo. The creature had the body of a buffalo but its head and scaly dark skin resembled those of a crocodile.

The Inquisitr reports that the crocodile-buffalo hybrid was born in High Rock in the Wanghin area of Thailand. A number of photos of the unusual creature have since gone viral over the Internet.

People from villages around the High Rock have been coming in numbers to catch a glimpse of the mysterious life form. One of the photographs shows people lighting candles and incense around the creature laid on a platform.

While some people believe that the creature is a genetic mutant, others suggest that it must be a crocodile-buffalo hybrid, just like the horse-donkey and donkey-zebra hybrids. However, the former group disagrees, saying that horse-donkey hybrids are possible only because they are closely related to one another.

Although the creature died soon after birth, some locals believe that it could be a good omen that will bring good luck to the entire community. A number of people from around the world have called the hybrid a “hoax,” while others blame it on human engineering and experimentation.

Recently, a corpse of a mysterious creature was discovered along the banks of the Kovashi River in Russia. Since local biologists were unable to identify the creature, people suspected that it could be a result of nuclear contamination in the area surrounding the Leningrad Nuclear Plant.
