Typically, 2K sports releases locker codes for Virtual Currency (VC) via its official Twitter representative who goes by the handle Ronnie2K. However, in recent years, players have taken to Twitter themselves to share locker codes to unlock their respective game characters.
The MyTeam mode, one of the most popular features of the game series, is built on the idea of collecting and trading virtual cards. The gamer is given the option of building a custom team while selecting the players, logos, jerseys, court, so on and so forth. The virtual cards helps players unlock everything basketball - from players, playbooks, arenas, logos and everything needed to build a team from the scratch.

The gamer also has the option of trading the cards online. 2K also gives them the option of purchasing card packs using VC. The cards are classified as Gold, Emerald, Ruby, Silver, etc. based on its worth.

It's simple. The goodies can be purchased by visiting the main menu page and clicking on "Locker Codes." The above listed locker codes (including dashes) need to be properly typed on the screen to unlock the players. After entering the codes, the gamer will receive a confirmation message.
It is important to note that these players are limited free agents, meaning they can only be used for a select number of games in the MyTeam format. Once the free cards elapse, they can still be purchased or unlocked via standard packs.
