Indiana Pacers All-star Paul George is likely to miss the rest of the NBA season after he proclaimed that he is leaning towards letting the rest of the team build on the current impeccable team chemistry than run the risk of trying to integrate him this late into the season. A week ago, the injured superstar was optimistic that he could be the x-factor that could thrust the Pacers into the playoffs but now he is singing a different tune.

"I'm on the fence," George recently told USA Today Sports. "Part of me is (thinking), they're playing so well, they've come together, to shake up the chemistry and add another body, another player in there ... I don't want to be that guy that destroys what these guys have going.”

The Pacers are rolling after the All-Star break, winning 13 of the last 15 games after the annual extravaganza. The team was 15 games under the 0.500 mark at the end of the year but has now climbed to the 7th spot in the talent-inept Eastern Conference. During the team’s run, players such as Rodeny Stuckey, point guard George Hill and power forward tandem David West and Luis Scola has taken turns in carrying the offence while holding the fort on their vaunted defence. The results have been astonishing as the team which all but has been written off after the George injury and the Lance Stephenson exodus is now fighting for a spot in the post-season.

George acknowledges the magnificent effort of the team and admits that he might just prove to be a distraction rather than a contribution if he pushes his return to the league. His timetable from recovery from the brutal leg injury he suffered during Team U.S.A.’s scrimmage dating back to Aug. 1, 2014, is on pace for this month, yet he is on the fence of returning to court and brandishing his new “PG-13” monicker.

The former lottery pick said that he has been feeling better the past few weeks and has even participated in some in-court contact activities. Coach Frank Vogel has already stamped his health level as the talented coach that his player has been exerting effort without anything mental or physical holding him back during practices. Nevertheless, Vogel declared that his ward is not yet ready to come back, or there is no immediate reason to rush the return to action.
