‘NCIS’ Season 13 Update: Gibbs Expected To Survive Even As Mark Harmon Said ‘Anyone Is Replaceable’ (Spoilers)
“NCIS” Season 13 is expected to have Mark Harmon on board as Leroy Jethro Gibbs. Fans across online forum sites and comment boards are confident Gibbs is alive, even as Harmon himself has hinted that no actor in the long-running CBS series is safe.

While promoting the “NCIS” Season 12 finale on "The Late Late Show with James Corden," Mark Harmon said “anyone” can be replaced in the show. Fans, however, are not convinced. Despite the events in the twelfth season finale, many of the show’s avid viewers are convinced Gibbs will not die in Season 13.
TVLine reported that Mark Harmon has already signed on for “NCIS” Season 13. This somewhat supports the popular fan theory that the Gibbs’ situation will not lead to the character’s death.
To quickly recap, Ned Dorneget dies in “NCIS” Season 12. His mother turns out to be a CIA agent. She accompanies Gibbs and DiNozzo to Iraq to find the terrorist organisation responsible for Dorneget’s death. A child witness who has earned Gibbs’ sympathies and affection later attacks Gibbs, shooting him twice at close range.
The same TVLine report said NCIS show boss Gary Glasberg has confirmed that “NCIS” Season 13 will pick up from the events of the Season 12 finale. This implies that Mimi Rogers is coming back to reprise her role as Ned’s mom, CIA Agent Joanna Teague.
Some fans are also thinking that more will be known about Gibbs’ odd visions (seeing and hearing Mike Franks as well as all his other fallen colleagues, including Agent Todd). There is a fan theory that Gibbs might be sick and recent situations are triggering these visions. More “NCIS” Season 13 spoilers and teasers are expected to trickle in as pre-production and filming moves forward in the next couple of weeks.
"NCIS" Season 13 is expected to premiere on CBS around September or October. Mark Harmon, Michael Weatherly, Sean Murray, Pauley Perrette, Brian Dietzen, Emily Wickersham and David McCallum are all expected to return.
