“Need for Speed: No Limits” is the first game from the Need for Speed franchise that has been built exclusively for the mobile gaming platform. The free-to-play game from Australia-based developer Firemonkeys that lets players race on the streets of Blackridge using 30 licensed vehicles.

“Need for Speed: No Limits” offers around 100 player levels and 10 different modes to keep the player hooked onto their mobile devices throughout the game, IGN reported. Apart from the chapter-based ‘Underground’ story races, the player also has access to special timed events and tournaments.

Controls are simple, as the game is set to allow players to steer cars by taps on the left and right areas of the screen. However, there are two more ways to control the cars, if players are not comfortable with the default setting. The first gives the ability to control cars by tilting the device, while the second requires swiping left and right on the screen. Gear shifts and acceleration are automatic in all the three modes as reported by Adweek.

The game allows the usage of both in-game currency as well as premium cash. Players earn cash in the game by completing various objectives. The in-game cash can be used for installing car mods in the game. Real Cash on the the other hand can be used to accelerate progress in a game by providing the player with the ability to buy mystery crates and specific car blueprints. Nitrous charges are automatically re-fuelled and nitrous boosts are activated by swiping up on the screen.

The Need for Speed franchise has always been known for its ability to allow the player to customise and fine tune cars and “Need For Speed: No Limits” is no different. With millions of custom combos underneath the player’s fingertips, the options are endless, allowing every player to build the dream ride in the game.

While the game does provide a console-like experience that any mobile gamer can think of, “Need for Speed: No Limits” does impose limitations. Like other free-to-play titles, it can become a game of waiting or shelling out cash in certain aspects. For instance, to continue racing, players either need to wait for some time to get an empty gas tank filled up automatically or shell out real cash if they want it filled immediately. This formula has been in existence since the game was first available in Netherlands and Taiwan for testing and continues to follow the trend. The game also requires a stable Internet connection to play.

“Need for Speed: No Limits” is currently available as a free download. Players can check the game out in the iTunes Store for iOS devices and in the Google Play Store for Android devices.
