For its opening salvo this week, “Neighbours” deals with jealousy, heartbreak and triumph. On Monday, Jack Callahan (Andrew Morley) butts heads with Tyler Brennan (Travis Burns) about Paige Smith (Olympia Valance). Jack becomes disheartened and resorts to booze, then wakes up the next day with no memory of what happened – only a bloodied hand.

Meanwhile, Xanthe Canning (Lilly Van Der Mer) becomes equally devastated after finding out what Ben Ian Kirk (Felix Mallard) did. Things get worse when she gets trapped once again, this time in a room with Cooper Knights (Charlie Hannaford). Other “Neighbours” cast members who will also appear on the Aug.15 episode include Terese Willis (Rebekah Elmaloglou), Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis), Madison Robinson (Sarah Ellen), Piper Willis (Mavournee Hazel), Gary Canning (Damien Richardson) and Amy Williams (Zoe Cramond).

“Neighbours” also stars Susan Kennedy (Jackie Woodburne), Karl (Alan Fletcher), Sonya Rebecchi (Eve Morey), Jarrod “Toadie” Rebecchi (Ryan Moloney), Stephanie Scully (Carla Bonner), Mark Brennan (Scott McGregor), Aaron Brennan (Matt Wilson), Brad Willis (Kip Gamblin), Lauren Turner (Kate Kendall), Ned (Ben Hall), Elly Conway (Jodi Anasta), Sheila Canning (Colette Mann), Jimmy Williams (Darcy Tadich) and Charlie Hoyland (Alexander McGuire).

Channel Eleven posted a sneak peek of Monday’s episode. In the trailer, Xanthe hurriedly grabs her bag and tells Cooper that she needs to go, but he blocks the door. He puts a “Do not disturb” sign on the doorknob. Meanwhile, Paul tells Terese that nobody’s as smart as they think they are and Terese laughs in reply. Digital Spy reports that Terese and Paul reach an agreement – she’ll give up her shares of his motel and in return, he’ll give her chef back.

Elsewhere, Paige and Tyler are touchy-feely with each other and Jack spots them kissing. Jack warns Tyler that Paige better not get hurt. Tension builds between the two, and it looks like a fight is about to happen. Spoilers says that Jack is concerned after finding out that Paige is set to participate in a professional boxing match. He confronts Tyler for not caring about Paige and Tyler refuses to back down. Upset, Jack ends up drinking too much and wakes up the next day with blood on his hands.

“Neighbours” recap

Last week, Xanthe freaked out after seeing the snake blocking her way out of the toolshed. She screamed for help, but nobody seemed to hear her. Meanwhile, Ben was waiting for Xanthe and kept on trying to contact her, but she left her phone outside. Later, Alison arrived and apologised for the trouble she stirred with Xanthe. Alison invited him out to kill some time and he agreed. The two ended up kissing again.

Piper found a stray cat and decided to keep it, naming it Clementine. When she took it home – against her mother’s wishes – the cat ran off. As Piper looked for her new pet friend, she ended up at Xanthe’s backyard. As Piper tried to figure out how to help Xanthe, Clementine came just in time and scared the snake off. Xanthe was grateful for Piper’s presence and the two hugged and they made up. Meanwhile, Xanthe tried to call Ben, but couldn’t reach him. When she went to work with Alison for their project, Ben was also there. Xanthe asked whether something happened between Ben and Alison.

Madison returned to Ramsay Street from New York and she checked with Piper and Terese. At Lassiters, Terese introduced Madison to their new chef, Solomon. Terese and Solomon arranged for a meeting that afternoon, but he cancelled at the last minute and said he won’t work for them anymore. Gary got wind off Paul’s plan to sabotage Terese using the chef and tried to warn Terese, but she just didn’t give him the time of the day. Terese and Madison found out from Solomon that he got an offer from Paul to work at the motel.

Terese stormed to Paul’s office and confronted him about stealing her chef. She was puzzled as to how he even knew about Solomon. An argument ensued, but their nasty words quickly turned to sexual innuendos before they notice. Terese walked off. Later, Gary dropped by her office to give her an envelope and to warn her about Paul.
