An addition to Australia’s largest Apple stores is soon to open in the succeeding months in the city of Brisbane. This is a result of yesterday’s announcement of plans concerning the $10.5 million renovation of historic MacArthur Chambers.

The potential headquarters of the Apple store in Brisbane is expected to be bigger than Sydney’s Apple store which is said to occupy 2,000 square meters although one of its three floors is used as an office space. The application of the edifice’s arranged transformation includes all the signatures of owners of outlets, but it did not show Apple on its list.

MacArthur Chambers’ new look incorporate twin glass doors, a “new colour scheme of shades of white”, illuminated interior signs, a stone floor and, tellingly, “new feature stairs”.

A glass staircase which was the trademark of Apple’s first Australian store in Sydney’s George Street is expected to be seen in the historic building in Brisbane. This Apple hallmark can also be seen in the company’s flagship store in Fifth Avenue, New York.
If approved, Brisbane’s first Apple Store would look very distinctively in comparison to the 10 existing Apple Stores in Australia as it will be housed in a renaissance building.

Looking back the memory lane, in 2004 Apple opened a store in the historic Regent Street, London, after long negotiations with the British Crown while last year Apple opened a Parisian store showing off marble columns, a mosaic floor and fashioned iron railings positioned opposite the city’s Opera de Paris.
