Good news for Aussie customers waiting for the new Apple TV. As promised by Tim Cook last week, the fourth generation Apple TV can now pre-ordered from Apple’s Online Store by Australian customers.

Those that paid extra for faster delivery can expect the first orders to reach them between Oct. 30 and Nov. 3. Free orders will start from Nov. 2, reports Apple Insider. But in-store availability of the device is yet to be confirmed.

The new Apple TV with 32 GB storage will be available at AU$269 and the 64 GB variant will come with a price tag of AU$349. Powered by the latest dual-core A8 processor, the new Apple TV supports 10/100BASE-T Ethernet, 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity options. This is a major overhaul from a single-core A5 chip of its predecessor priced at AU$109 on the online store.

Apart from improving the processing power, Apple also opened the device to app developers for the first time, reports CNET. The Apple Box offers Netflix, Hulu Plus and HBO Go. New iOS games and “universal” content services will allow seamless usage across various platforms.

Announced back in September, Apple TV will come packed with a set-top box, Siri Remote, lighting-USB cable and power lead. The Bluetooth 4.0 enabled Siri Remote comes with a Glass Touch surface and dual microphones.

The new generation Apple TV will be shipped with a plenty of new options to cater the ever demanding consumer markets. The revamped Apple TV features an improved app-store that will enable users to add or delete apps according to their preference and even install third-party apps. Integration of Siri’s voice recognition with search functionality will make the device even more coveted.
