New 'BlackBerry Leap' Available For Purchase In The US For $275 And The UK For £199 With 25 Hours Of Guaranteed Heavy-Usage Talk Time
Only recently, the BlackBerry Leap smartphone was made available for pre-order in the UK. However, now, this new handset from BlackBerry can be purchased in the U.S. as well as the UK. Here is a list of killer features, specifications, price and availability.
Key BlackBerry Leap Features
The important feature to be noted, however, is that the BlackBerry Leap comes with the build of BlackBerry 10.3.1 pre-installed on the handset. Therefore, this device brings in a killer feature called the BlackBerry Assistant, which is the voice activated digital personal assistant in the lines of Siri, Cortana and Google Now. Meanwhile, the BlackBerry 10.3.1 OS also comes with the Amazon App store, in addition to the BlackBerry World for BlackBerry-specific apps. Similar to other BlackBerry devices, this unlocked Leap handset can apparently encrypt calls and provide malware protection, notes Phone Arena.
Adding a cherry on top, the BlackBerry Leap apparently comes with the BlackBerry Blend, which lets the user to view the handset’s contents on a PC/laptop. Plus, the virtual QWERTY keyboard reportedly “corrects mistakes in a flash.” Even though, the Leap comes with only 2,800 mAh battery unit, it can reportedly provide up to 25 hours of charge even with heavy usage.
BlackBerry Leap Specifications
As far as the main BlackBerry Leap specifications go, the phone comes with a pocket-friendly 5.0-inch display, packed with a resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels, notes BlackBerry. Hence, the pixel density turns out to be a decent 294 ppi. Under the hood, the handset is powered by a modest dual-core (Snapdragon S4) Krait SoC, clocked at 1.5 GHz and backed by 2 GB of RAM.
Speaking of memory specification, the handset comes equipped with 16 GB of storage capacity and microSD slot for expansion up to 128 GB. When it comes to camera, the BlackBerry leap houses an 8 MP rear-facing unit with LED flash and a 2 MP front-facing shooter.

In the case of the U.S., CrackBerry says, the BlackBerry Leap price is apparently set for $275. Plus, this handset can be purchased from BlackBerry store and Amazon. Notably, this device will work under T-Mobile network, however, AT&T will also be offering the handset soon. Moving on to the BlackBerry Leap price specific to the UK, the handset will reportedly set the buyers back 199 GBP i.e. $298.
