New Dagadam smartwatch boasts of functionability, durability and style; Android and iOS compatible device launches in June
The Dagadam smartwatch is ready to launch next month. The device boasts of a Smart Notification Centre that sorts out alerts according to user preference. It’s also preloaded with a handful of apps, and is Android and iOS compatible.
The Dagadam Watch, according to its Irish maker, impeccably interweaves enhanced technology with a comfortable and ergonomic design. The Dagadam team is into research and development of artificial intelligence-based advancements. The group began working on the watch more than three years ago, with the aim of reaching “a brand new level of innovation.”
Dagadam says that its timepiece is the first smartwatch to have a Smart Notification Centre, which the team calls the Dagadam HUB. It supposedly analyses and learns the way a user interacts with notifications, sorting future alerts according to the owner’s exact preferences and routines. The watch’s Sense touch bezel, which is still currently going through developmental stages, happens to be a sleek touch-sensitive ring situated on the outer edge of the display that provides easy navigation, scrolling and zooming – among other functions.
The Dagadam Buddy feature allows fellow users of the smartwatch to trade contact and social media details. All they have to do is to let the two watches touch each other’s display for five seconds. The user naturally controls what he or she decides to share. This feature only works between two Dagadam watches.
The Dagadam Fit function registers and analyses daily nutrition and fitness progress. It reports the user’s calorie intake, average basal calorie consumption (based on the age, weight, gender and height of the user), sports-related calorie intake and others. The watch also has powerful sensors that monitor real-time heart rate, speed, distance, as well as GPS location.
“No need to bring your phone when going out for a run [as the] Dagadam watch will save and share your activity with your phone, Google Fit, Strava and more,” says the Dagadam team. “[You can also] sync with Bluetooth headphones to listen to your favourite music (up to 10,000 songs) on the go.”
The 1.4-inch Dagadam smartwatch starts shipping in June. Retail prices start at US$299 (AU$404), but those who are interested can cash in on the early bird deals which has the basic package (silver or black edition watch with rubber wristbands) at only US$209 (AU$282). A smaller 1.2-inch variant with almost the same features called the Dagadam Watch S is also available.
