‘New Girl’ season 6, episode 14 spoilers, recap: Jess and Robby’s outdoor adventure takes an unexpected turn on ‘The Hike’
Winston (Lamorne Morris) sets up a party at Schmidt (Max Greenfield) and Cece’s (Hannah Simone) new house for Aly’s (Nasim Pedrad) return while Jess (Zooey Deschanel) and Robby (Nelson Franklin) go hiking on “New Girl” season 6, episode 14 (New Girl 6x14).

Winston has a big surprise gathering set up at Schmidt and Cece’s new house for his girlfriend Aly. He has brought in a rather huge number of her girlfriend’s family members. When Aly arrives, she is none too pleased about it.
The hosts are having trouble keeping up with the demands of the guests while Nick (Jake Johnson) is botching his only job, which is to sell Winston as a terrific guy to Aly’s family. Aly and her sister get in a fight and Winston sees the whole thing. Aly runs off to get some air.
Later, Aly apologises to Winston and acknowledges that she may be worse than her “crazy” family. Winston brushes off the notion and proceeds to profess and demonstrate how crazy he is himself on top of a table for everyone to see, and just in time for the arrival of Aly’s parents. Fortunately for Winston, Aly’s dad is a passionate man himself so he is impressed with him right off the bat.
After intentionally calling the police in hopes of ending their miserable night, Schmidt and Cece find out that the responding officers are friends of Winston. They finally snap and demand that all guests take their shoes off to keep the house tidy. The party continues and everyone has a good time.
Meanwhile, Jess and Robby decide to go hiking and have all their maps and accessories down to a tee. Everything is peachy until they get lost and start to berate each other over trail mixes and flashlights. Robby accidentally destroys his glasses and inadvertently knocks Jess to the ground, hurting her “beautiful dancer’s ankle” in the process.
Jess and Robby take shelter in a cave. They’re lost, it’s night-time and it’s raining. Just when they thought it couldn’t get any worse, they find out that they are distant cousins and eventually break up.
