New Google Nexus 7 Release Date July 30, Specs Confirmed: Best 2013 Android Tablet?
The 2013 Nexus 7 comes with 5MP camera, wireless charging, and Adreno 320 GPU
The New Google Nexus 7 has been outed to the press, thanks to Google's "Breakfast with Sundar Pichai." On paper, the specs are great. Shopping mode is on! The July 30 release date is just days ahead, so Android fans are giddy with excitement.
The 2013 Nexus 7 is running on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system. When Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie is ready, the succeeding batches could be shipped with the new OS. This 7-inch tablet stands first in line for Google updates, this year or later.
What iPad Mini 2? New Nexus 7 release date is coming!
Apple fans curious about the new Nexus 7 specs would be at least a little bit disheartened to know that Google's new baby has outstanding specs. Its HD screen display features a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels.
If only the screen and CPU mattered, the iPad mini would be put to shame by the Nexus 7's 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro with 2GB of RAM. In contrast, the current iPad mini 2 is fuelled by a dual core processor with half-GB of RAM.
Does the new Nexus 7 have a rear camera?
Newbie tablet shoppers confused about which device to buy often factor in the device's camera features. Well, the old Nexus 7 doesn't have a primary shooter, so that was a disappointment for many. Now the new Nexus 7 has a 1.2 MP front-facing and 5 MP rear cameras.
CNET's initial review of the new Nexus 7 are mostly positive. The new flagship Google 7-incher allows wireless charging, NFC, and 4G LTE. Users of Samsung Galaxy S4 would find it interesting that their phone has the same graphic chip as the new N7: Adreno 320 GPU.
Australia's Mobicity has yet to announce a pre-order date. But it is understood you can order the device from Google Play. Mobicity's current price for the original Nexus 7 is $289.95. Then again, you might want to wait out a bit more for actual hands-on reviews. Give it a couple of months before declaring the new Nexus 7 is 2013's best Android tablet.
The new Nexus 7 is for heavy gamers, frequent media browsers, and Android fans -- especially those who couldn't wait for Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie. The price might tell you this is the device you buy for your kids. But this small tablet is definitely for adults, too.
