A new video has surfaced on YouTube claiming exclusive first look of the iPad 5. The author of the video compares the new design with the iPad 4. More rumours and leaks are expected before the release date.

The video shows the new iPad 5 design. It is sleeker and narrower than the iPad 4. The size of the side bezel has been considerably reduced to give the narrower look. The actual screen size has not been compromised to achieve the narrow design.

The width of the iPad 4 showed a measurement of 18.5 cm in the video where as the iPad 5 showed a measurement of 17 cm. The reduction in width allowed the author of the video to hold the device from end to end in the palm of his hands. This could be conveniently done with the iPad 4.

The iPad 5 is shown to be sleeker in the video. But the difference between the older generation and the new device is very negligible.

The new iPad 5 design seems to be inspired by the iPad mini. The new design features two buttons for volume control instead of the single button featured in the iPad 4.

The iPad 5 seems to feature upgraded speakers judging by the loudspeaker ports. This feature also seems to have been inspired by the iPad mini.

The video did not show any hardware specs or any other details regarding the software and camera et al.

Rumours however suggest that the iPad 5 will come with a retina display. The hardware is rumoured to come with an improved A6X processor. The new industry standard is a 2 GB RAM, Apple could either match or surpass this figure.

Both the iPad 3 and iPad 4 came with a 5 MP camera fans would expect a better camera this time around. According to analysts an 8 MP camera is feasible.

In terms of price there has been speculation that the iPad 5 will be priced starting from $ 499 for the 16 GB variant. This is in line with the Apple tradition so far. The 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB variants are speculated to come with a price tag of $ 599, $ 699 and $ 799 respectively.
