New iPad 5 Multiple Images Leaked Before Release Date [PHOTOS]
Multiple images have been leaked online of the upcoming iPad 5. The device is expected to have a release date of October 22. The new space grey colour shown in the images are just one of the many new offerings expected at the launch.
The new images were leaked online by Sonny Dickson, the high resolution images show the iPad 5 to be similar in design to the iPad mini. The iPad mini 2 is also expected to be launched at the same launch event.
There has been speculation about the possibility that the iPad mini 2 may not be available on a large scale, due to the shortage of supply of the retina display. The iPad 5 however is expected to roll out as per schedule.
The device is rumoured to come in a sleeker design, made possible by reducing the bezel size. The new design reduces the overall size of the device while still maintaining the same screen size.
The iPad 5 is expected to come with 64 bit architecture and an A7 chip. The RAM is also expected to get an upgrade to 2 GB. The expectation comes as the recently launched iPhone 5S from Apple has 64 bit architecture.
Another feature that made its debut at the iPhone launch event is the Touch ID fingerprint scanner. The new security feature is also expected on the iPad 5; the feature has won some strong supporters in the legal community.
Analysts expect that the Touch ID feature will be a norm on all portable Apple devices going forward. The feature comes at a time when Twitter accounts of major organisations have been hacked. The added security may make such hack attacks more difficult in the future.
The feature is also useful for making mobile payments and purchases in a more secure manner. There are also indications that Apple may support Near Field Communication (NFC) on the iPad 5.
The device is expected to get an 8 MP camera and Sony sensors. Click here to read about the exciting new camera on the upcoming device in more detail.
The memory options for the device are expected to include 16 GB, 32GB, 64GB and a 128GB. Apple does not traditionally provide a Micro SD slot for additional memory and the same is expected to continue with the iPad 5.
